Coaching, NLP, Time Line Therapy® & Hypnosis

Creating space for change, clarity and a different way forward

Sometimes we understand intellectually what we want to change, yet something within us continues to hold us in the same patterns.

We may find ourselves repeating the same emotional responses, carrying old fears, feeling guilt that no longer serves us, or holding beliefs about ourselves that quietly influence our choices, relationships and sense of possibility.

My coaching, NLP, Time Line Therapy® and hypnosis sessions offer a space to explore these patterns and begin creating change at a deeper level.

I draw from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy® and hypnosis, together with a compassionate, person-centred coaching approach.

The aim is not to erase your past or change who you are.

It is to help you understand yourself differently, release what you are ready to let go of, and develop greater freedom in how you think, feel and respond.

What can we work with?

You may be drawn to this work because you recognise a pattern in your life that you are ready to understand or change.

Sessions may be helpful when you are experiencing:

  • Fear or anxiety around particular situations

  • Guilt, self-blame or difficulty forgiving yourself

  • Feeling stuck in old emotional patterns

  • Difficulty letting go of a person, relationship or past experience

  • Repeating relationship or behavioural patterns

  • Limiting beliefs about yourself or your capabilities

  • Lack of confidence or self-belief

  • Difficulty trusting yourself or your decisions

  • Fear of change or fear of failure

  • Perfectionism or feeling that you are “never enough”

  • Procrastination, avoidance or self-sabotaging patterns

  • Feeling overwhelmed by old emotional baggage

  • Difficulty moving forward after a significant life experience

  • Overthinking or repeatedly second-guessing yourself

  • Feeling emotionally attached to something you know is causing you pain

  • Wanting greater clarity about your future or your next step

  • Knowing what you want to change, but feeling unable to make the change on your own

You do not necessarily need to know exactly what is keeping you stuck before beginning.

Part of the process is discovering the beliefs, emotional patterns and internal responses that may be operating beneath the surface.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP — Neuro-Linguistic Programming — explores the relationship between our thoughts, language, emotions and patterns of behaviour.

The way we talk to ourselves influences the way we perceive our experiences.

Sometimes we develop internal beliefs such as:

“I'm not good enough.”

“I always get things wrong.”

“I can't trust people.”

“It's my fault.”

“Something bad will happen.”

“I have to be in control.”

These beliefs can become so familiar that we stop questioning them.

Through coaching and selected NLP techniques, we can begin to identify these patterns, explore whether they are still serving you, and create more supportive ways of thinking and responding.

NLP is used here as a coaching and personal-development approach, rather than as a replacement for psychological or medical treatment.

Time Line Therapy®

Time Line Therapy® is a structured approach developed within the NLP field that focuses on our relationship with memories, emotions and beliefs connected to past experiences.

The Time Line Therapy® model proposes that we unconsciously organise our memories and experiences in a personal “timeline”.

Within a session, we may explore emotional patterns associated with experiences such as:

fear • guilt • anger • sadness • hurt

The intention is not to change what happened.

Instead, the work focuses on the emotional response and meaning that may have become attached to past experiences, allowing you to consider whether you are ready to let go of emotions or beliefs that you no longer need to carry.

Time Line Therapy® also includes work with limiting beliefs — deeply held beliefs about ourselves or the world that can influence what we believe is possible.

You can learn more about the Time Line Therapy® approach from the Time Line Therapy® Association.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of focused attention and increased responsiveness to suggestion.

You have probably experienced something similar without calling it hypnosis — becoming completely absorbed in a book, music, a film, driving a familiar route, or becoming deeply relaxed while your attention turns inward.

In a guided hypnosis session, this state of focused attention can be used to support reflection, relaxation and constructive change.

Hypnosis may involve:

  • Guided relaxation

  • Focused attention

  • Therapeutic imagery

  • Positive suggestions

  • Rehearsing new ways of responding

  • Strengthening supportive beliefs

  • Developing a greater sense of calm and self-trust

You remain aware throughout the session and retain your ability to make your own choices.

Hypnosis is not about giving up control.

It is about using focused attention and suggestion to support the changes you consciously want to make.

Bringing these approaches together

These approaches can be used individually or combined depending on your goals.

NLP

Time Line Therapy®

Hypnosis

Supporting the change

Coaching

Bringing it into everyday life

We identify practical ways to bring the changes you want into your relationships, choices, behaviours and daily life.

Not every session will use every approach.

The work is tailored to you and to what you are ready to explore.

Your Session

There is no requirement to arrive with everything figured out.We begin by identifying what you would like to be different.

Perhaps you know that you feel afraid, guilty, stuck or overwhelmed.

Perhaps you understand the situation intellectually but cannot understand why you continue to react in the same way.

Perhaps you feel emotionally attached to someone or something you know is no longer serving you.

Or perhaps you simply have a sense that you are ready for something to change.

Together, we can explore what is happening beneath the surface and identify an approach that is appropriate for your goals.

Sessions are collaborative and respectful of your individual pace. You remain in control throughout the process.

A Series of Sessions

While a single session can be valuable for a specific issue, a series of 3–5 sessions is generally recommended when working with deeper or recurring patterns. This allows us time to understand the issue, work with the underlying patterns and support you in integrating change into everyday life.

A typical process may look like:

Session 1 — Understanding & Mapping

We explore what is happening, what you would like to change and the patterns surrounding the issue.

Sessions 2–3 — Deeper Work

We work more deeply with emotional responses, beliefs, memories and behavioural patterns using the approaches most appropriate for you.

Sessions 4–5 — Integration

Where appropriate, additional sessions allow us to strengthen the changes, address related patterns and support you in bringing new ways of responding into everyday life.

Your individual process may be shorter or longer depending on what you are working with.

Creating change without fighting yourself

You do not have to spend the rest of your life fighting against a pattern simply because it has been there for a long time.

Sometimes change begins by understanding why the pattern developed in the first place.

And sometimes it begins by recognising:“This helped me once. I don't need it in the same way anymore.

The work is about creating greater choice.Greater awareness.Greater self-trust.

And the freedom to move forward with a different relationship to yourself and your past.

Is this right for me?

Coaching, NLP, Time Line Therapy® and hypnosis may be appropriate for people who are looking for support with personal development, emotional patterns, confidence, beliefs, relationships and life transitions.

These approaches are not intended to diagnose or treat mental health disorders or to replace medical or psychological care.

If you are experiencing significant psychological distress, trauma-related symptoms, severe anxiety, depression, or another mental-health condition, you should seek assessment and support from an appropriately qualified mental-health professional.

Where appropriate, coaching and hypnosis can be complementary to your existing healthcare.
